The teams first travel event of the season was a close hop away to the Sister Island, where a few of our younger athletes competed in the First Cayman Brac - Appleby Series competition.
The selected travel team for this event was Mikayla Thames, Hosannia O'Connor, Camerin Porter, Caelon Foreshaw and Rah-J Watler. Just like their bigger teammates they came out to make a statement of dominance.
The boys did well holding their own in the U10 and U11 age group. Little but mighty Caelon Foreshaw took charge of the U10's with 1st place finishes in the 100m, 150m and Long Jump. Rah-J Watler had a respectful 4th place finish in the 100m and 3rd place finish in the 150m.
The girls came BEAST MODE ready! Our team birthday girl on the day Hosannia O'Conner participating in her opening event of the season was on fire as she destroyed the field in both the 100m and 200m U13 taking 1st place in both events. Another little but mighty star was Mikayla Thames as she took charge of the girls U12. Not to be out done by Caelon, Mikayla came full on girl power as she took 1st place in the 100m, 200m and Long Jump. Once again rounding out the day was Camerin Porter as she took 1st in the open competition for Long Jump.
Big round of applause to these youngsters as they represented Speed Athletics and their older teammates with PRIDE.
